Preparing Students with Disabilities for Life after School and the Workplace

Update

Is Philadelphia preparing students with disabilities for life after high school?

Under federal law, school districts are required to provide “transition services” which are “activities designed to prepare the child for further education, independent living and employment.”

The Public Interest Law Center would like to learn more about what the School District of Philadelphia is doing to prepare students with disabilities for life after high school, particularly for employment.

We would like to speak with you to gain a better understanding of your experience getting employment-related transition services through the School District including services like vocational evaluations, job shadowing and internships.

If you would be willing to speak with someone from the Law Center, please call (267) 546-1314 or email dhemerka@pubintlaw.org.
