Parents Encouraged to Attend Fairness Hearing, Submit Comments on Settlement

Parents are encouraged to attend a fairness hearing on a preliminarily approved settlement that would end the “Autism Shuffle” on June 3, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Courtroom 6A at the U.S. District Courthouse located at 601 Market Street.

Advocates and parents may also submit comments by May 22 to Judge Davis at Office of the Clerk, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, 601 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19106.

Together with Dechert LLP, we reached a settlement with the School District of Philadelphia, preliminarily approved by the Court, that ensures children with autism will not be unfairly transferred between schools, and that parents will become more involved in the process.
