Second Zoning Bill Regarding Eastwick Development Held in Committee

Just one day after a proposed zoning bill to develop 722 apartment units and parking on 35 acres of land in Eastick was held in a committee, a second bill, which would have allowed the airport to acquire a 79-acre adjacent plot, was held. The bill, which was backed by Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, was held by his request at the Rule Committee Meeting on Tuesday. Although Councilman Johnson believes that Korman’s plan for the area would be good for the community, he wants to give residents time to get more information, after many expressed their desire for it to be withdrawn.
