Giving Tuesday 2019

The Public Interest Law Center presents Giving Tuesday. Please consider donating December 3

The Law Center is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, and businesses around the world. Millions come together every year to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. #GivingTuesday falls each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, which this year is December 3, 2019.

This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our founding in Philadelphia in 1969. Since then, fueled by the power of communities demanding justice, we have used the law to make sure that all people, regardless of race, ZIP code or disability, can access the fundamental resources they need to build their lives: safe housing, quality schools, a voice at the ballot box, and more.

We have won many inspiring victories, but much work still remains. Philadelphia is the poorest big city in the country, and renewed threats to long-standing civil rights protections are constantly on the horizon. We need your support to keep going. Consider a first-time donation, or renew and increase last year’s Giving Tuesday contribution. Your support will go twice as far–in honor of our challenge to Pennsylvania’s broken school funding system, two anonymous donors have pledged to match the first $25,000 in donations dollar-for-dollar. Together, we can take on the discrimination and poverty that still holds back far too many communities in the Philadelphia region and beyond.
