PA Senate Passes Online Voter Registration Bill

The Pennsylvania Senate passed SB37 without amendment on Wednesday, April 17th, moving forward an important update to the state’s voter registration system. The bill now heads to the House of Representatives for a vote.

If passed and signed into law, this bill mandates that an electronic registration system be created such that voters can register or update their registration information online. This enhancement increases accessibility and streamlines the current registration process. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 12 states across the country already offer online voter registration.
